Firecrawl launches "headless Clay": lead data and work emails for your AI agent, 88% cheaper than Clay
Firecrawl now lets ChatGPT, Claude and other agents search for people and companies, find work emails and pull job and company data through one API key, MCP server or command-line tool. The data comes from providers Firecrawl resells, mainly Apollo, FullEnrich, People Data Labs and Data Legion, plus public registers. You get 1,000 free credits a month, enough for roughly 25–33 contacts with a work email; the paid plan behind the "88% cheaper than Clay" figure is $83/month.
Why it mattersFor people already working in ChatGPT or Claude, this is a cheap way to do lead lookups without a Clay subscription, and the 88% checks out on Firecrawl's own footnoted comparison. It isn't a full Clay replacement, though: there are no tables, CRM sync or sequencing, and only four contact-data providers. In the UK and EU, work emails are personal data, so cold outreach still needs a GDPR basis and an opt-out. Our check rates the post partly fact.
