Rerun goes open source as an AI "coworkers" app, but it's only free if you host it yourself
Rerun, from a two-person company in Luxembourg, lets a team set up AI "coworkers" that run recurring jobs (leads, inbox, CRM) on their own cloud computer, with your apps, a browser and your choice of model. On 29 Oct it put the code on GitHub under the AGPL-3.0 licence, and it now pitches itself as an open-source alternative to Grok Bot and Claude Duet with unlimited seats. The hosted version is a 5-day trial that needs a card, then $29/month. An iPhone app is promised this week.
Why it mattersUnlimited seats and real, self-hostable code are useful for small teams. But "for FREE" means running it yourself; the hosted extras (LinkedIn, WhatsApp, templates, the iOS app) aren't open; and signing in with a Claude plan uses Claude Code's private sign-in, which Anthropic's terms don't allow for third-party apps. Use an API key instead. Our check rates the post partly fact.
