Monid lets your AI agent pay per call for 2,800 data tools from one balance
Monid, a San Francisco startup that raised a $7.7M seed round in October, calls itself "OpenRouter for agent tools". You connect your agent once, through a skill file, an MCP server, a CLI or an API, and it can then search for and use about 2,800 tools from 90+ providers, from web search and scraping to lead data, SEO, social media data and image or video generation. Each call is paid from one prepaid balance, usually a fraction of a cent, with no sign-up for each provider and no subscription. The connector layer is open source.
Why it mattersMost small businesses don't need a dozen data subscriptions for an agent that only uses them now and then, and pay-per-call removes that waste. But "no markups" applies to most endpoints rather than all, the usage rankings are Monid's own, and buying people's contact data still brings GDPR duties. Our check rates its claims partly fact.
