Reason pitches itself as "Grokbot with unlimited usage". It's a coding agent, and the limits are still there
A day after Grok Bot users hit their usage limits, YC startup Reason Machines posted that it had "made Grokbot with unlimited usage". Reason is a cloud coding agent: you connect GitHub, give it a task, and it works on its own cloud computer and opens a pull request. You can plug in AI plans you already pay for (ChatGPT, Claude, Grok or Copilot), and when one runs out it moves on to the next, then to paid Reason credits. Plans cost $50 or $200 a month, with a 3-day free trial.
Why it mattersIt's a real product, but the pitch doesn't match its own docs: your subscriptions keep their limits, Reason's plans have weekly caps, and it isn't Grok Bot. Connecting a Claude Pro or Max plan to a third-party app also goes against Anthropic's published terms, so that route could be cut off. Our check rates the claim hype. Related: Musk's comment that Grok Bot's serving costs were "unsustainably high".
