What’s actually true

  • Holds: no subscriptions. You top up one prepaid balance and each call is charged at its own listed price; discover and inspect are free, and failed provider calls are charged nothing (Monid docs and GitHub README).
  • Holds: it's a real product and company. The hosted service, MCP server, CLI and REST API are live, the connector layer is open source on GitHub (monid-ai/monid, MIT, about 6,100 stars), and Monid announced a $7.7M seed round led by Long Journey Ventures on 6 Oct 2026, after a $2.1M pre-seed.
  • Partly holds: no markups. Monid's own guide for agents says most endpoints carry no markup and tells you to look for the no-markup tag, so some may still carry a fee. Before 15 Oct, press coverage of the launch quoted about $0.0013 per call plus a 10% platform fee.
  • Moving number: the tool count. It was 1,700+ from 55+ providers at the funding news, 2,500+ in this post, 2,000+ from 72+ providers in the GitHub README and 2,800+ from 90+ providers on the homepage today. Count endpoints you need, not the headline.
  • Unverified: the usage figures. Its Agent Hunt leaderboard (for example TinyFish at 1.43M calls in a week) and the reported 4 million agent transactions come from Monid itself, with no independent audit.
  • Context: Monid mainly reads and fetches data. Its own docs say to use Composio or Zapier when an agent needs to write into apps like Slack or HubSpot.
