OpenAI doubles limits on its top plans and drops the Pro 200 cut
OpenAI doubled the ChatGPT Work and Codex allowance on Pro 100, Pro 500 and Business Premium seats, and called off the reduction it had planned for Pro 200, so Pro 200 users keep their current allowance and anyone already moved down is restored. The change is in OpenAI's own release notes, although the wording around Pro 200 confused readers, @kimmonismus among them. OpenAI doesn't publish exact allowances and warns that double the allowance doesn't mean double the tasks, because heavier tasks use more. Plus isn't included, and Dots keep their separate extended limits 'for now'.
Correction to our 29 October edition: the Pro 200 cut we reported for 30 October is cancelled. Separately, @Mr_Salio spotted a hidden checkout line suggesting ChatGPT and Codex will share a single limit from December; OpenAI hasn't confirmed it, so treat it as a rumour.
Why it mattersIf you pay for Pro or Business Premium for Codex or agent work, you now get more for the same price and don't need to plan around a cut. Check again before December in case the limits are merged.
