TesterArmy is now e2e and raises $8M for open-source AI app testing
TesterArmy, a Y Combinator startup from Warsaw and San Francisco, has renamed itself e2e after its open-source testing framework of the same name, and raised an $8M seed led by Credo Ventures, KAYA, Point Nine, Baobab Ventures and Script Capital. e2e lets you write tests for web, iOS and Android apps that mix exact checks with plain-language AI steps, run them on your own machine or in CI, and plug them into Claude Code, Cursor or Codex. It's free under Apache-2.0; npm shows about 1.6M downloads in its first month. Fact or hype: fact. The round and the adoption are real; 'verification layer for the agentic coding era' is the company's slogan.
Why it mattersIf a coding agent builds your app, something has to check the app actually works. e2e gives the agent a way to test its own work, at no cost beyond the AI model. It's pre-1.0 and code-first, so it suits developers rather than no-code builders, and TesterArmy's hosted service closes on 15 Jan 2027. We haven't tested it hands-on.
