AGENTS & USE CASES · 27 OCTOBER 2026
Cursor's Agent SDK is now generally available: agents as code, with tests
With Cursor's Agent SDK you define an agent as a folder of code (Markdown prompts plus TypeScript tools), test it with built-in evals that check which tools it actually used, replay real GitHub events against it, then deploy it to Cursor's hosting or run it yourself. Agents can be triggered from GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, Slack, webhooks or a schedule, and there are templates such as a security reviewer and a ticket triager. Cursor lists no separate price for the SDK; usage is billed as model tokens.
Why it mattersThis is the grown-up version of a prompt automation: tests stop a small prompt tweak from silently breaking a workflow. It's developer-level, but if you commission agents from a freelancer, ask what tests they run.
