Report: OpenAI engineers replacing custom code with Codex skills
A post claims OpenAI's forward-deployed engineering team cut about 90% of its custom code by turning client apps into Codex skills. It's a second-hand claim we couldn't verify, so read it as a report, not a fact.
Why it mattersEven if the number is inflated, the direction matches what we've seen all week: repeatable procedures written as skills instead of bespoke code. If you build small automations for clients, try writing the next one as a skill first.
