Meanwhile, everyday agents get longer leashes: Claude MCP Tasks, Cursor computer use and Agent Relay
Claude now supports MCP Tasks and Elicitations in public beta (Claude Code CLI, Agent SDK and GitHub Actions, not the desktop app yet): long jobs keep running in the background, and a connected tool can stop and ask you a question mid-task. Cursor's agents can now control a computer (shown driving the iPhone Simulator) on self-hosted cloud agents, and the new open-source Agent Relay lets agents in Codex, Claude and Cursor read each other's sessions and hand work over.
Why it mattersAgents that run longer and talk to each other can take bigger jobs off your plate, but each step adds risk. The 'ask me mid-task' pattern is the one to like: build approval points into any workflow that touches clients or money.
