OpenAI's always-on agent, dots, is moving to GPT-6.1 Terra to reach more people
Codex lead Thibault Sottiaux (@thsottiaux) said OpenAI is expanding the models behind dots to GPT-6 Astra, GPT-6.1 Terra 'and some others', with Terra adding speed and a personality upgrade and helping bring dots to more people. OpenAI's help centre still says dots runs on GPT-6 Astra for eligible Pro and Business Premium users. Posts saying Plus users will get dots 'soon' are a guess: no plan or date has been announced.
Why it mattersIf you've been waiting for dots on a cheaper plan, it looks closer, but don't change subscriptions until OpenAI names the plans.
