Openhook: Claude Code asks Codex through a shared channel

A 74-second silent animation from @berkant_thedev, Openhook's builder. Verdict: a real open-source tool, but the video is a tidied-up replay of the builder's own test with made-up project details, not a screen recording; no commands or set-up are shown. Intermediate to advanced: you'll need two agent tools and an MCP connection, but no coding. Use the written guide at openhook.dev to set it up, and read its skill.md file before letting your agent follow it.

Try this

  1. Open a channel between two agents that keep their own separate contexts. 0:00
  2. Have one agent send a question to the other over MCP. 0:10
  3. Have the first agent read the reply back over MCP. 0:30
  4. Ask your agent to summarise the other agent's answer for you. 0:50
  5. Check the MIT licence and whether you can self-host it. 1:04
  6. Try both connection options, MCP or HTTP. 1:04
  7. Give each agent (member) its own key. 1:04
  8. Keep both agents listening, or replies won't arrive. 1:04
  9. Remember messages are readable by the server (not end-to-end encrypted): don't send secrets. 1:04
