CODING AGENT / DEV TOOL · WORTH A LOOK
Token Optimizer
A plugin that cuts wasted context in Claude Code and other coding agents, with compaction checkpoints and a local cost dashboard.
What Token Optimizer does
By Alex Greenshpun. Installs as hooks/skills for Claude Code (marketplace plugin), Codex, OpenCode, OpenClaw, Hermes, Copilot, Cursor and others. Compresses re-reads and tool output, checkpoints before auto-compact, scores context quality, and writes a local SQLite-backed dashboard. Claims zero telemetry. Licence is PolyForm Noncommercial 1.0.0.
Good for
- Reducing context waste in Claude Code and similar agents

Honest take
No red flags in our notes so far
- Serious, actively maintained tooling with published methodology and a real local dashboard. The headline dollar savings are mostly the author's estimated routing slice, not metered cuts, and the licence is noncommercial. Worth a trial on personal Claude Code use; check the licence before work. We haven't tested it hands-on.
