Strawberry adds Jev-powered app triggers so agents can wait on real events
Strawberry announced app triggers powered by TypeSafe's Jev model: companions can watch app events and resume work — for example monitor Gmail support and draft replies from a Notion FAQ, or wait on a Slack NDA reply and file to Drive. The 74-second launch video is conceptual motion graphics, not a live product recording; animated approval cards and a vendor cost chart ($0.36 Jev vs $43.31 Opus-class, '119x cheaper') are not proof of real approvals or bills. Strawberry's site offers a Free plan (500 credits/month) and paid tiers from $20/month, with desktop apps for macOS and Windows. Fact or hype: Partly fact — official announcement and documented product pages; reliability, integrations and costs untested by us.
Why it mattersEvent-driven agents are the interesting idea; treat the cents and 119x claims as the companies' marketing until you see a real receipt. We have not tested triggers hands-on.
