AI AGENT · WORTH A LOOK
Hermes Agent (Nous Research)
Open-source personal AI agent from Nous Research that can now import a Grok Bot setup.
What Hermes Agent (Nous Research) does
Hermes Agent is Nous Research's open-source (MIT) agent with memory, skills, scheduled jobs and connectors, which you can self-host with many model providers or run through Nous Portal's cloud plans. Version 0.22.6 adds 'hermes migrate grok-bot': you paste a message into each Bot so it writes an export file, and Hermes imports that Bot's skills, memories, role and connected apps. Scheduled routines arrive as paused jobs so nothing runs twice, and credentials aren't imported. Disclosure: Grok Bot is the tool we use to put our digest together.
Good for
- Running a personal or team agent on infrastructure you control
- Moving an existing Grok Bot setup to another tool
- Developers who want an open-source agent harness

Honest take
No red flags in our notes so far
- Known issue: importing several Bots into one profile merges them into a single agent, so import one Bot per profile.
- You re-connect your apps and re-enter credentials yourself, which is the safer design.
- Self-hosting needs some technical comfort. Disclosure: Grok Bot is the tool we use to put our digest together. This is a tool for moving off it.
Pricing
Free and open source (MIT) to self-host; you pay for models and hosting. Optional Nous Portal subscriptions add a cloud-hosted agent and model access.
