What ego(lite) does

Free Chromium-based browser built to be shared with AI agents. Its ego-browser skill lets Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and other agents that run shell commands drive the browser in an isolated 'Space' (type /ego-browser plus the task), using your existing Chrome logins imported in one click, while you keep using your own tabs. Agents write one JavaScript snippet per multi-step action instead of one tool call per step.

Good for

  • Have Claude Code research and compare vendors/tools across official sites and return a table
  • Collect invoices from logged-in portals (Stripe, Shopify, bank) for month-end, then review before paying
  • Pull leads or competitor posts from pages behind your logins

Try this in 10 minutes

  1. Trigger the browser agent from Claude Code with the /ego-browser command. (shown at 0:05 in the video)
  2. Plain-English multi-site research with a forced table output (name the sites, the fields and the format). (shown at 0:06 in the video)
  3. Spaces: run each agent session in its own sandboxed browser space. (shown at 0:15 in the video)

Honest take

No red flags in our notes so far

  • Fact or hype verdict on ego(lite): an AI agent browser driven from Claude Code: a genuine product doing a believable task, shown in its best light. Worth a test for vendor/competitor research, not proof it works first time. Source video
  • Speed/success/cost benchmarks (e.g. 81.8s vs 282.9s for agent-browser; 93.5% success) are ego's own.
  • Agent inherits all your logged-in sessions, and the Windows Claude Code guide says to enable 'Bypass permissions': test on a separate browser profile without banking/admin logins. @kimmonismus's thread used a link.ego.app referral link, so treat it as possibly sponsored.
