Supabase: give your app its own MCP server
Fact, but developer-grade: Supabase has published a ready-made MCP Server block you add to your project as an Edge Function, so customers can connect your app to ChatGPT or Claude and sign in with the account they already have. Every tool call runs as that signed-in user, so your existing database permissions (row level security) decide what the AI can see, and no master key is exposed. The hype to trim: 'your customers can use your app from ChatGPT or Claude' only becomes true after real setup work, including TypeScript, an OAuth server, a consent page and signing-key settings, and it is only as safe as your permission rules. We couldn't confirm on the blog itself whether it's free on all plans.
Why it mattersFor SaaS builders this is a real way to put your product inside the AI assistants your customers already use. For no-coders, it's one to hand to a developer or a coding agent, with a careful review of your permission rules first.
