Treg's AEO Toolkit: see who AI recommends in your market
OUR VERDICT
Partly factOur original verdict: “Mostly fact, with marketing gloss.”
THE CLAIM
“Treg's 'OpenSource AEO Toolkit': find every source AI cites and the author behind it, get your product into sources AI trusts, '1 cent per prompt', no subscription.”
What’s actually true
- It's a working copy-paste agent prompt that asks ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Mode and Perplexity your buyers' questions, records which brands get named and which sites get cited, finds the people behind those sites and drafts (but never sends) outreach.
- '1 cent per prompt' is per question, not per audit; you need a Treg sign-in and a prepaid balance; and 'open source' is really source-available (Apache 2.0 plus a no-hosting clause).
- Claude is in the headline but isn't actually queried, and the tool measures and drafts; nothing proves it gets you recommended.

Cost
About $0.31 per full audit by Treg's own figures, with $1 free to start; prepaid balance.
USE IT IF
Marketers who want a cheap snapshot of where they stand in AI answers. Run each question a few times, as AI answers vary.
SKIP IT IF
Anyone expecting it to get them recommended, or sending its drafted outreach without checking UK GDPR and PECR rules.
