Greg Isenberg's 'one-person AI business' playbook: a decent idea, with big claims

Watched in full (25 minutes). It's a genuine episode of Greg Isenberg's Startup Ideas Podcast. The idea is a local 'matchmaking' business: find a service where demand is high and supply is scattered (his example is night nurses in Montreal), use AI to build and clean a list of providers, then connect buyers and sellers. What's shown is thin: one chat prompt that returns a list of names and prices, plus setup notes for a phone-calling add-on. He never shows the AI reading Facebook groups, calling anyone or closing a sale, the '1,000+ millionaires' line is pure opinion, and it isn't really '$0' (the phone add-on shown is a paid plan). The video calls the tool 'Muse' but we couldn't confirm from it which product he's using. Beginner to intermediate for the business idea; the agent and phone setup needs technical skills. It has seven real things to test.

Try this

  1. Look for a local service where people keep asking for recommendations but providers are scattered. 02:03
  2. Before building anything, write down the niche, the city, your rules and how you'll vet providers. 04:25
  3. Paste messy lists from social posts into an AI and ask for a clean table of names, prices and contact details. 06:00
  4. Move that list into a sheet or Airtable you own, so you're not dependent on any one platform. 06:17
  5. When AI gives you a useful list, ask where it found each one, then check those sources yourself, as lists like this can be made up. 11:36
  6. Set up a simple, professional business page for the service so people searching can find you. 13:02
  7. Spot badly photographed or underpriced Marketplace listings, and test buying, improving and relisting one. 15:28
