Axiom's agents formally checked one of maths' biggest proofs in 24 days

3 sources · Part of the 28 October 2026 edition

Axiom says its agents, with human guidance, formalised the Classification of Finite Simple Groups (about 15,000 pages of proofs by more than 100 mathematicians) in the Lean proof checker in 24 days, and flagged issues in one published route. That's the company's own account. Spotted by @kimmonismus.

Why it mattersIt's the pattern behind trustworthy agent work: output that a machine can check. Ask the same of your own agent workflows (tests, totals that reconcile, before-and-after comparisons).
