BIG LAB UPDATES · 23 OCTOBER 2026
OpenAI's Decisions API is now generally available
OpenAI's developer team says the Decisions API is now generally available: it classifies text or images, checks inputs and picks the next step for an agent without writing a full answer, which OpenAI says is faster and cheaper (its own claim).
Why it mattersFor anyone building automations, this is the 'router' step: sorting emails, tickets or form entries before an agent acts. Cheaper routing makes small business automations more affordable to run.
