HYPE OR FACT? · CHECKED 26 OCTOBER 2026
A '$100k agent sold to Anthropic' post wrapped around a Stanford lecture
OUR VERDICT
HypeOur original verdict: “None of the post's claims are in the video.”
THE CLAIM
“An agent built in 20 minutes and sold to Anthropic for $100k; 'replaces a $200k team'; '$1.2M a year selling agents'.”
What’s actually true
- None of that is in the video. It's the opening lecture of Stanford's CS329A course by Prof. Aakanksha Chowdhery and Prof. Azalia Mirhoseini, and a slide refers to the Fall 2025 course.
- The lecture itself is a clear, free primer on prompting, reasoning models and agent workflows.
